Datscan Launch

i heard that evrybody at that meeting had to sign a form letter to limit disclosure. i told the person that told me this that no way would that stop people from talking. she told me evrybody is so scared and paranoid, nobody will say peep about what happened. that and nobody in that division has any testicular fortitude.

Most people who work for a criminal enterprise usually have to sign such an oath. GE would be no exception.

All that being said, I hope they are successful with DATscan. Having had a father with Parkinsons disease (who died many years ago), I know the trials and tribulations my mother (a nurse) went through trying to get him diagnosed and treated. At the time (early 1960's) it was easier to explain his actions by calling him a drunk than to identify his disease.

for what it's worth DaTSCAN is a fantastic product. Imagine the frustration of not having a firm diagnosis, or worse still a wrong diagnosis that shows itself potentially years after your loved one's fate has been decided by an over-confident clinical diagnosis. This product images the pathology of disease and is right pretty much all of the time.
Shame it's being sold by schmucks.

Ditto on the above poster. PD is very difficult to diagnose from other diseases, such as essential tremor, which mimic the symptoms of PD yet is treated much differently than PD.

Ditto on the schmucks remark as well ... it's sad GE has run such a fine company as Amersham (and its predecessor companies) into the ground. Hope Sir Bill and his cronies are spending their blood money well ... they have ruined hundreds of careers of hard working folks ...
