Why does the future look so grim for Valeant / Bausch and Lamb?

1. Lack of Leadership (across all of the brands and throughout the company)
2. Lack of transparency

We don't track fleet cars. We don't have access to your mileage reports either. We CAN look at call log activity but that isn't anything new.

Well established industry leader's? Misleaders of the public would be more appropriate. B + L hasn't brought innovation to ophthalmology in the last 100 years. Like I said, see you idiots in court.

Sorry. Bausch & Lomb was a well established Industry leader in causing blindness by selling contact lens solution contaminated with fungi...

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nearly two-thirds of contact-lens wearers who contracted a potentially blinding fungal eye infection reported using Bausch & Lomb Inc.'s newest lens cleaner, health authorities said Tuesday.
 






The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday released a Form 483 for Valeant’s Bausch & Lomb sterile drug manufacturing facility in Tampa, FL, citing the site for microbiological contamination of drugs purporting to be sterile.

The eight-day inspection last February uncovered four observations detailing:

  • Written records of investigations into unexplained discrepancies do not include the conclusions and follow-up
  • Procedures designed to prevent microbiological contamination of drug products purporting to be sterile are not established, written and followed
  • Equipment and utensils are not maintained at appropriate intervals to prevent contamination that would alter the safety, identity, strength, quality or purity of the drug product
  • Control procedures are not established to monitor the output of the manufacturing processes that may be responsible for causing variability in the characteristics of in-process material and the drug product.
 






More than 700 lens wearers in the United States and Asia say they were exposed to a potentially blinding infection known as Fusarium keratitis while using ReNu with MoistureLoc, a new-formula multipurpose solution for cleaning, storing and moistening soft contact lenses.

Sometimes, the damage was irreparable. Seven people in Florida, Maryland, New York, Oregon, Tennessee and West Virginia had to have an eye removed. At least 60 more Americans needed vision-saving corneal transplants.
