Danaher

Seems like the acquisition will be final this week. From past Danaher acquisitions, Danaher immediately incorporates the LEAN model and layoffs begin and the culture immediately changes.

I know reps have been told that things will be great but they are always the last to know.

Does anyone want to comment on what their perspective is of this acquisition?

I just heard that Joe Campbell, Vice President of North American Sales at Implant Direct, is moving over to join us at Nobel.

While I am an easy going, wait and see kind of person, I have a friend that works for them in the South and I heard this guy is as TOTAL waste of space. Has no idea as to whats going on in the markets and is, as my buddy puts in "outright scary". He signs every email with "KILL" in all capitals.

Memo to Joe Campbell: These are dental products. This is NOT a war. It's a competitive business. Killing is what going in over in Iraq and Afghanistan. I know. I lost 2 friends in 4 years to people who "KILL". One was blown apart so bad, that there was nothing to burry. So, next time you affectionally sign of with "KILL", take a moment to think about the people who have died on your behalf so you can drink your scotch and sip your wines. Once you figure out how offence this is, or your own HR department leashes your inappropriate behaviour, you're more than welcome to come aboard the Nobel. Someone here will explain what an implant is when you get here.

Wow. I am sorry about your friends. That is truly heartbreaking.

Why would Danaher bring a VP from implant direct to Nobel? Do you think they are planning to consolidate? How can Nobel compete when their parent company owns an implant that is company that markets exact same but 1/3rd of the price?

We won't be able to compete. That is why they are going to bring over a low-baller manager to "teach" us. I bet once he gets here, he is fired within 6 months. We are competitive now. I have sold 50's lower than i EVER have. We do need the Campbell dip-stick.

Likely a rumor, first off Danaher does not "own" Implant Direct, they have a partnership vs they own Nobel Biocare. Second, Danaher would not delute the premium position of Nobel with ID leadership espically when they have Alpha-Bio in the wings if they wanted to offer an "economy" line of implants that mirrror competative offerings. Wishful thinking.

How does Danaher not own ID? Danaher owns Sybron who owns ID. Sounds pretty simple to me.

Not so simple - if you check you will see they own a percentage of the biz. So not an outright ownership. Niz and Danaher still fighting out the finish. If you dont own it, you cannot control it. Those who have been through a Danaher acquistion know the drill, they do not play games or mess around. Can you say Kaizen event.....

would it be difficult to sell nobel implants if they came with the moniker "Manufactured in Mexico"?

hearing rumblings. mexicali sybron has left some uneasy.

No inventes guey!

Once the big D settles in, they will guy Nobel. Thats what they do. Don't believe me? This si what will happen.

You run alone for a bit. Some pressures from them, but not many. Then, they will start with the "plants" These are people from management from other D companies that have preformed well. Likely in accounting first. CFO..something like that. Then they will do the same in op's and sales. Once the plants are in place, and upper management at D has a good picture as to what is going on at Nobel level, they will formulate a plan and execute it. This plan will include cost savings in manufacturing and op's, slashing the f&%k out of the sales team and marketing budgets.

Don't believe me? Stick around.

They own 80% and counting. Soon as Jiznicks lawyers get sick of dealing with him and the nuisance suits are finished, Danaher will own it all. Until then, they are just letting Implant Direct flounder in their own fecal matter.

Implant space has been commoditized. Game Over. Set - Match.

Right On Que, In come the Wal-Marts of dentistry to turn the rep function into low-paid slave labor.

You implant reps that are spared the first-round corporate ax are doomed to years of mediocre pay and impossible forecast numbers. Bonus money is a thing-of-the-past for you, and your lot.

Perfect part-time work for housewifes and wanna be sales people like hygienists.

How May I Help You - Wal-Mart 'greeter' or implant rep ?

How's the dentsply purchase of Sirona going to effect your business as a none rep?
Answer: Nobel rep has no more business
Nice knowing ya

So the word is out that Laube is out at Nobel Biocare. Danaher is moving him to a corporate position and moving in a Danaher business system guy to replace him sometime in Nov or Dec. Although this has been expected for sometime, how do you think Melker will respond since he didn't get the job he thought he deserved? My guess is not very well. Once he discovers he can't control the Danaher guy like he did Laube, he will be unable to control his famous temper. Going to be pretty amusing to watch as there is no place at Danaher for an autocrat. Maybe Neoss will take him back.

"So the word is out that Laube is out at Nobel Biocare. Danaher is moving him to a corporate position and moving in a Danaher business system guy to replace him sometime in Nov or Dec." blah blah blah blah

Who gives a shit ?

Nobody.

I work for another Danaher implant company (like it or not). I can tell you that the "plant" has been planted, Kaizen is the way of live, and change is inevitable. However, in our case it's probably all for the better. As a rep there is only one way we can go from where we are at right now, and that is up.
