I google searched Bert Koch, and this is the 2nd entry that popped up, the first one was the law suit where Labcorp sued him..
"Dallas TX Employee | 04 Oct 2008 5:30 pm
Bert Koch. He is the one that has done 4 tours with Labcorp but is totally out of touch. He is a political person that has never worked a day in the lab. He appears to be useless."

Note that that was 5 years ago. It is the exact same story. Guy doesn't have a clue. Who is responsible for letting him run the Dallas division? That makes it all so scary. What a political bunch of idiots. Such a good ole boys club.
Multiple positions have been filled lately, before they were even posted with HR. As long as you are in good with Bert, you are solid gold. You can be fired from Labcorp for not doing your job, but If Bert likes you.... Welcome Back!! What a joke.

This is the Labcorp way- keep the worst salespeople in charge. I know 3 RMBDs that have other FULL-TIME jobs who have been around for quite some time. One of them owns his own business entirely, you can find his semi-related company through google if you wanted to. This is a place where every weekday is opposite day. Work hard get punished, slack off and go to gem club. How many KAEs have made it to gem club by putting in 15 hour weeks and only pretending to know their clients?

Really think about it: how many GREAT salespeople have you known that have worked for Labcorp (or any subsidiary)? There really aren't that many. A few here and there but they never stick around. Lots of tenured managers and reps are burned out and just doing the minimum it takes to keep their head above water. This is NOT a company that harbors or develops great salespeople. Ask any current rep if they are being developed and pushed to be better, most will say no.

i agree, as a current kae i have no development. nobody ever tried to coach me on upsell techniqes (although sure as the sun rises they ask what ive sold every month). a little guidance would be nice, although that would mean more work for my manager, and im sure that isnt in the cards. do not take a kae job if you want to sell, you will be working damage control all day and any presentation is in the face of extreme client frustration. there are a lot of kaes in the same position as me, salesperson at heart but never gettting a chance to make a clean presentation. one thing for sure is that the good ones at labcorp are great at presenting in the face of adversity and learning how to flip a negative to a neutral.

Yes, LabCorp is not the place to work to obtain professional development. Our Area Director only yells at us weekly and states that if we don't produce, we can be replaced! Great motivation by her! She micro-manages us to death, takes up too much time on conference calls and meetings, then wonders why we haven't up-sold anything to the accounts that are already fed up with the billing errors and rude phlebotomists. What a joke! LabCrap sucks!!!!!!

KG is known for having zero ability to know when to shut up. It has been proven time and time again that more than 90% of communication is non-verbal; why does LCA love to hire idiots who can't even begin to pick up on body language or intonation? Isn't a large part of being in sales knowing when to shut up? This particular person is a prime example of someone who has enjoyed a small amount of success (luck?) despite herself.

The worst part is that there are SOOO many reps within this place that have the same attributes. A bull in a china shop is far preferred by upper management, no velvet hammers need apply.

Rule #1 for new reps: DO NOT STOP TALKING UNTIL YOUR PROSPECT IS OUT OF SIGHT COMPLETELY. IGNORE THEIR BODY LANGUAGE AND DO YOUR BEST JOB OF WASTING THEIR TIME. KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS, EVEN AS THEY ARE WALKING AWAY.

Sadly, this is the rule with Labcrap reps rather than the exception. When managers such as KG are steamrolling everyone it's only fitting for the reps to do the same. Good salespeople are effective communicators (verbally and non-verbally), therefore they get the same point across although they aren't perceived as pests. Shitty communicators will close a deal now and again through sheer luck, although their accounts will think they are annoying.
