CVR call this past Friday…

Ok. Everyone heard that, correct?

Bill very clearly said, “will there be reductions? Absolutely”

Then as he continued to talk there at the end of the call…he said “have a good weekend, be proud of your contribution to Kerendia, that’s part of your legacy and you take that with you wherever you go”

Also had a lot of talk about just focusing on finishing the year strong. Very clearly - MASSIVE layoffs coming to CVR.

Funny thing is - Bill actually talked about changes that hinted at expansion in CVR.

Ok. That is utterly delusional. Absolutely delusional.

Let's hope that was put up here by a manager who is trying to urge the team to run all the way to the finish line. That is the only plausible scenario that makes sense. Otherwise, if someone listened to Bill's Zoom call on Friday and came away with the conclusion that Bill was talking about expansion...then that person was high as a kite by 10am on Friday morning OR has the worse listening skills of anyone I have ever worked with in pharmaceuticals (or anywhere else).

Bill, in no way whatsoever, hinted at expansion. Read that as many times as you need to in order to understand it.

We received TWO emails the previous week telling us that there would be reductions in headcount. One of these emails came from the head of US Pharmaceuticals (hint: he is talking about us!)

Then, we had a Ask Anything call last week with the head of US pharmaceuticals in which he laid out the plan for these reductions telling us that there would not be one all encompassing announcement...but "changes" would be announced during these seperate 90 day cycles until the end of 2024, when Bayer US pharma would be "fully operational in the DSO model" - in other words, all of the layoffs will take place between now and the end of next year.

And if that were not enough...we had a CVR Ask Anything call on Friday with Bill. And during this call, Bill said, "will the be reductions? Absolutely. But there will also be alot of opportunity"

Ok. I know you would like there to be a pony at the bottom of this pile of horseshit, but there is no pony, I am sorry to say. Bill very clearly meant that there would be opportunity for whoever was left standing...opportunity in this smaller, leader DSO modeled Bayer CVR that will carry both Kerendia and Adempas to hospitals and specialists. That is what Bill was saying - NOT that there would be expansion in CVR. What he said was "will there be reductions? Absolutely"

That means...there will absolutely be reductions in the Kerendia team.

And as a further hint, let me warn you - they will be massive, they will be extensive. We all should start wrapping our heads around that immediately. From Sebastian's email and from his Ask Anything...it is clear that an announcement could be made this week...or it could be made in August 2024, who knows. But what is certain is that there will be reductions, it will impact the CVR field salesforce, and there is every reason in the world to believe that they will be extensive.

I thought on the call lead by Sebastian he said he would NOT drag looming layoffs on over the 5 90 periods? It would be swift and that part would not continue. Incorporating the entire model would take phases, but not the lay offs?

I don’t think they would make an announcement in CVR and WHC that there will be lay offs without it happening quickly.

The oncology franchise has not been addressed yet, so maybe that team rolls into another 90 days.

I would imagine they want to refocus those retained ASAP.

honestly, that is what I think as well. They’ve clearly said there will be reductions….if you announce it, it seems like you’re about to do it- otherwise, why say it?

And pharmaceutical companies love to announce layoffs at the holidays …well, we are here. Xmas decorations are in stores - it’s lay-off season in pharma

Insider here: first round of layoffs will take place the week before holiday year end shut down. Get your affairs in order now and update your resumes. Good luck to all.

Of course we have an insider!! What good layoff doesn’t come with an insider report. Fucking joke

every single time I have been with a company that has gone through layoffs…someone on Cafepharma told us what would happen before it happened.

The problem, of course, is you get alot of information that is inaccurate as well (eg someone in this conversation said they heard we were having expansions)…so, the truth is going to appear here (it’s not the “expansion” idea)
