How soon will we recall it? Like our black load that we released long after Covidien brought theirs to market? Single port, Harmonic Ace for 7mm, etc...yes, we have the GPO's....but we only follow, never innovate. Sad.

It seems that you are getting anxious and worry... keep on monitoring the 510(k)

It only has TWO rows of staples and requires a separate handle to be opened. Why the f@*k would we be anxious?! Unbelievably ridiculous "new" technology. My thoracic docs literally laughed when the rep couldn't answer why 2 rows of staples is now better than 3 for the most critical staple lines in a lobectomy. "But doctor, you get an extra 5 degrees of articulation!" Bahahahahahahaha..

Access is almost always the biggest issue in thoracics and its more than just 5 degrees. The thinner shaft gives much greater access. The number of staple rows isn't as important as maneuverability.

You must not have been around when the Baker article came out on staple formation and how three rows of staples is clinical benefit over two. It was one of the benefits when we launched a STRAIGHT, non articulating, Echelon.

Yet it was important to go from 2 rows to 3 when modernizing from the TL30 to the TX30V and we even upgraded our open linear cutter to a 3 row stapler. Don't let the marketing spinmeisters in the puzzle palace fool you, access will not trump security and hemostasis on the PA and PV. Especially as a second to market player.

It doesn't look like you know what a Thoracic surgeon needs. Continue to sell based on features... what a shame.
