Culture? Astellas has a horrible culture and to answer you question directly - BIG PHARMA all the way. In fact it's worse. Astellas is a mid-cap size company which wants to run with the big dogs. The roots of this company is in two small bio-tech's which were both great. Then same-ol pattern. mergerer...reorg.. hired in huge staffing of Abbott/Pfizer drop-outs and wala .... a POS company with old products and an overly zealous Compliance/HR and Legal home office crew which looks to govern everything done in this company. Total Sales Buzz-Kill. If you are a go-getter...you'll hate it here!

So, so true!

Very interesting how the individuals who were hand selected to come here have pretty much vanished. Various tactics were deployed to escort them out of the company (expense report audits exposing activities that nearly everyone in the company has done from time to time, action plans deployed on "targeted" dissidents, sabotage, pitting teammates against one another, finding so-called compliance violations at dinner programs (ie because the speaker may not have used entire slide deck - totally out of the rep's control)...so many tactics have been deployed, on and on........

Guess what SSL! We are not stupid! One would have to be BLIND not to see what's happened over the past 6 or 7 years...
