Rumors are heating up that there is another RIF happening in the coming days/weeks -- Primarily with Regional Managers but Field sales reps may be affected as well. Anyone else hearing this??

Of course there is!! Instead of your normal yearly August layoffs we can now pray for biannual layoffs. Labor Day and Christmas!!

Of course a 'reargue/layoff' is coming - it already happening. We have a new sheriff in town who has been charged with righting the ship in struggling areas. You can't be surprised by this.

Wait, the Fire engine man has been deputized as sheriff? Can't believe he's the future of our company. We are screwed.

raligmments and layoffs have been constantly occurring behind the scenes since August through now. this company does not want to pay sales reps anymore. Anybody that wants to ignore the writing on the wall is just a complete fool. Every training class over the past year including the most current one is 99% TSS's being hired a NO sales reps in the in the classes. What does that tell you? The company is looking to pay kids 70k that are 23 to 26 years old coming out of college with biomed engineering degrees. That is the direction the company is going and the current sales reps that are already with this company are going to see nothing but their commissions and income go down, or get realigned or severanced out. This business is all about contractual pricing, and then covering the cases and the patients in the clinic's. It's as simple as that. And upper leadership and most device companies are starting to realize that everything is financially driven and has nothing to do with sales ability or relationships anymore these days. So why not pay a 24-year-old kid 1/4 the amount of money to do the same job that a sales rep does? which is covering cases and dealing with service burden. CRM is a total joke anymore these days and all of you know it. It's a shit job, it's not what it used to be and it sucks full circle. I'm waiting for my regional manager to come to me with a severance package, I'll take it and Skip away like a happy little six-year-old schoolgirl.

SPOT ON! There is a massive move away from the sales rep model to contracts, GPOs, and lower cost solutions which don't require a highly skilled sales rep who can add value. The physicians no longer have the power to choose the device which suits their patient, and at this point most of them are employees of the institution, with aligned incentives. Get out while you can - waiting will not fix this fundamental shift in the model.

100% spot on. Watching it happen everyday. Even with incompetent leadership they're figuring this out
