Anyone aware of layoffs today in CRM/SJM???

Yep. Happened already.

30 full time employees, mostly senior engineers and managers were laid off from SJM Plano TX facility.

Total of 350 full time SJM employees were laid off from the whole of SJM today.

Not a good news before Christmas for the effected employees and their families.

Selective hits in Plymouth and St. Paul today, too. Nothing earth shattering. Severance is the same as years past.

Wilmington MA site will be closing as well as with one in CA. Heard Westford was hit hard too.

25 or so high level engineers

There were also very selective hits in Liberty, S.C. and Scottsdale, AZ. However there is plenty of
deadwood left to be cut at both of these sites as well as other locations.

Gentlemen, start those Stihls and Husqvarna's and let the clear cutting begin!

Geez, they truly are embracing 'let's save cost by clearing payroll of high paying engineers in favor of wet behind the ears engineers to be......'. I love the passion and drive of the young engineer, but you also need to have the people around that not only influence the technology, but helped build it.

350 total laid off on Dec 10th. 170 or 50% from R&D and 25 or 7% from Quality. Interesting statistic.
