Covidien to buy US Endoscopy?

Any truth to these rumors? It would add a complete line of products to the Barr-x rep's bag.

Not speaking with any real knowledge...but probably not interested unless they had something that was actually differentiated. Snares, forceps, brushes...does USE have anything new or therapeutic worth buying? It would fill the bag but not adding any clinical value. Am I wrong?

I don't think you're wrong in that thinking. Most of what they've come out with recently are lower quality versions of other company's products. US Endoscopy Torrent irrigation tubing was a direct copy of Byrne Medical's, but we tried Torrent and it was terrible.

We've used Torrent for quite some time now, what did you find was so terrible about it?

It leaked a lot at the connection point to the scope.
