Counsyl?

I don't see a board for counsyl. I was contacted by one of their recruiters, and I am interested in learning more about the culture of the company and the commission structure.

Anyone have any helpful information?

They say their reps make anywhere from 120k-350k... High base salary and small commission on existing business and large commission on new business... "Run your own business" mentality...

Counsyl is moving into the oncology space and competing with Myriad and Ambry to provide genetic testing for hereditary cancer syndromes. The company was on the right track in terms of offering a solid place to work with a nice balance of work/home. Employees were treated well. Things are changing and not for the better.

Stay AWAY!!!!! Counsyl is a nightmare! It is being run by a bunch of 20-somethings who think they know everything and they are clueless about the healthcare system! There are cliques all over the place and if you aren't in with the "right" people, you are screwed.
You have leaders who can't admit when they make a mistake or who will blame it on someone else. This company also made promises to us that they simply cannot or will not uphold. It's so disappointing!!!

Simply put, Counsyl doesn't have their shit together!

Oh, and as far as money is concerned: you were told a lie! You won't make the kind of money they are promising... More likely to make $90 base and $50 at plan. But good luck with that!

And the management team (especially on the West) is a fricking nightmare!!!! They have some 25 year old kid with ZERO prior experience managing a sales team in Southern California. His name is Dave Bean (joke!).. Ya, check out his profile on Linkedin- his only other job was for a car rental company or some bullshit!!!! He's a total egomaniac! Refuses to collaborate.

The new VP of Oncology is unprofessional (BB). He came in and has made all kinds of promises that he's already broken.

Counsyl is terrible! No work/life balance either...

I can confirm this- also interviewed with DB- seems a little inexperienced to be a manager. Base salary seemed high (80-90k), but essentially still a pharma job

Apparently Counsyl has hired Brent Blake to head the oncology division... this guy was fired from Myriad and is a real nightmare!!!! I interviewed with him and as soon as I walked in, I realized I knew him and regretted ever accepted the interview. The guy is the most arrogant, egotistical LIAR I've ever worked with! The fact that this company has hired him to lead their oncology division is scary. Do not work for this guy, he is unethical. His past will catch up with him soon.

The latest on Counsyl:
30+ people let go this week!!! The entire marketing team- GONE!

This place is a sinking ship!!! Those of us who know better have been interviewing to get out of here before that happens!

Just confirming Counsyl is a sinking ship!

And if you're ever approached in the future to work for a douche bag named Brent Blake- RUN! This guy is the worst human being I've ever worked with!!! He is the most unethical, lying POS and he shouldn't be running an oncology unit!
