Couldn't GS have done corporate communications at Dendreon?

Or was it so important to hire a person for this position? Is that really a necessary expense for company owners to pay for? Greg Schiffman is handling that position at Stem.

"NEWARK, Calif., Nov 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE via COMTEX) -- StemCells, Inc. STEM +2.17% , a leading stem cell company developing novel cell-based therapeutics for disorders of the central nervous system, today announced that Greg Schiffman will join its executive team as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance, effective January 1, 2014. In his new role, Mr. Schiffman will be responsible for all aspects of the Company's financing activities, financial reporting and controls, corporate communications, and investor relations."

No. They hired someone for that position. It was made into an executive position. 75,000 shares were just awarded. Judging by about a few paragraphs of PR's a year from a completely secretive organization, it seems that it's not money well spent.

StemCells, Inc. has less than 50 employees. Your arguments are ludicrous, as usual.

Maybe the argument is ludicrous. We all want to learn things but if you always attack people's arguments and never tell anyone your argument, it doesn't serve any purpose.

Can you please tell us your argument for why Dendreon actually needs an executive corporate communications person and maybe tell us how this position has communicated to the outside world about the Dendreon brand? Does it have to be someone on the executive level who gets executive compensation?

No "maybe" - the comment is outright stupid. Obviously any publicly traded company of reasonable size or above has a PR person.

Yeah the Dendreon "brand" has been communicated in over 5,000 TV commercial airings, as well as at numerous medical and patient meetings. Maybe you should apply at Dendreon so you could learn about the very active product "branding" going on.

There are many recent college graduates or people who have a few years experience who would do a great job without the executive compensation. It's not rocket science and it's not executive level work.
