Coronavirus prevention

How is everyone limiting their exposure? I will be making most of my "calls" remotely and NOT flying unless absolutely necessary. I am sure my facilities and clinicians will appreciate our efforts to help keep everyone safe and allow them to focus on their urgent responsibilities. Most things they need from us does not involve direct, face to face interaction. Be smart - be safe.

No access to acute and post-acute facilities yet. A few doctors' offices open but not receptive to rep visits unless they ask for a sample. Must wait in the car and call ahead so that they can make sure the waiting area clear of patients before allowing reps in. Reps are not a priority and actually inconsiderate to think we can return to business a usual any time soon. Time to look for new jobs or retire.

Most of my/our competitors are hosting webinars. Our products are all "me-too" so in-person visits are not necessary or even possible. Competitors are doing remote lunch programs where the facility orders individually boxed meals to be delivered and the company (Convatec) or the rep hosts a short zoom call or webinar. I see medical device reps being old school. We are not going to be needed and think how much all of these companies can save without feet on the street. It is going to be another year or more before we can walk into a facility. Best to start looking at new careers, or ways to become relevant. Stick a fork in it.

I was in 4 facilities this week.

So, less than 1 a day. This is not good. I have been able to get into some Home Health offices, and 1 hospital. Materials Management and left samples for WOCNs but otherwise, not productive. No growth as they are barely doing any elective surgeries as patients really do not want to go in unless absolutely necessary. It is a joke and I have great relationships for over 10 years.

I ran into a few competitive reps and they are basically taking their docs out to play golf and just milking it and calling that a "call". They actually said they are enjoying the time off and have no plans on getting back to normal call plans until maybe end of the year. Going to be the ugliest sales numbers ever!
