Control What You Can Control

Control what you can control is the answer sales reps get when they ask for management/sales operations/IC/data governance accountability. Translation "be quiet and do what you're told".

Absolutely correct. Do not ask questions you know will not be answered with honesty and integrity. You'll be labeled a trouble maker who doesn't want to be held accountable if your numbers aren't up to par. Every rep should be asking the questions you're asking. If this is truly your business, you want to know everything that goes on in your territory. Good or bad. Plus, there are people in corporate who's job it is to do that for you.

It's not just YOUR business. Do you honestly think the territory you work is only YOUR business? Once you realize how stupid this statement is, maybe you'll understand why wasting your time focusing on things out of your control are a complete and utter waste of time. Blaming everything and everyone else on your lack luster sales numbers is also a complete waste of time.

Everything is out of your control. It's pharma for christsake. Enjoy the 15 hour work week and pretend what you're doing is impacting peoples lives. The drugs are impacting peoples lives, not you. Be greatful a product is covered under Medicare or Medicaid. It has nothing to do with your "selling" ability. See you at Xport Gym around 1pm.

"sales numbers"? That's an interesting choice of words. We do not get sales numbers. We get "projections". There are times when blame is appropriate. Someone is accountable for the failures @ Deerfield. It's not field sales. But I forgot, accountability only applies to sales reps. Not to the home office.
