I'm sorry you ego got in the way of doing a good job for the CSO. Many career direct sales reps can't make the transition to a CSO because they are ignorant of what a good CSO rep does (same exact thing that a good direct rep does)and/or have an artificially inflated view of their status, "a rep of a drug manufacturer". As a direct sales rep, you are only selling a drug because someone else in their company was smart enough to bring it to market or buy it from another. However, these same companies continue to partner with CSOs because they help their bottom line, just like a good direct sales force. As far as career path and total comp., there are similarities and differences within CSOs and manufacturers. If you don't like the comp package, don't accept the offer. Last time I looked, many of direct sales reps have been laid off and can't get rehired. That hard on the old career path. So enjoy your retirement and realize the next time you go to your doc, they may put you on a drug that a CSO rep may be selling. I look forward to your ignorant retort.
