Contract. Only Tools and Fools need apply

Who would ever take one of these jobs? I had a phone screen yesterday for a new contract she said. They pay is so low and from what I am reading there is no future. Why would anyone take one of these? I told her at the end of the call I did not want to be considered any further.

Good move. I did take a CSO position and it sucks. If you think the pay sounds bad before you can't imagine how bad it is once you are working it. The bonus is the biggest lie ever.

Correction. NOT bonus: BONE-us.

Yeah, who would have ever thought that the pay would be low in an industry sector that has been on the decline for 10 years, and has completely worn out it's usefulness to the market in which it operates? Gee, that is just strange. I cannot imagine why a company that is openly just trying to take suck the last remnants to blood from the Big Pharma stone, would not pay top dollars for disgruntled, lazy, entitled workers that will fall like rain from the sky whenever another ridiculous position in their skill-less profession is posted online.

Hmmm...........just crazy, I tell you.

So, I shouldn't have taken a 17% pay cut from big - plus car/gas/insurance, benefits, etc. - to come here? Anyone who DIDN'T do that in this market is the tool. It's called security: a term any recruiter or hiring personnel person understands.

Security? hahahahahahahahahahaha. Tool for sure. No, contract FOOL.

Let's see: "security" in terms of a monthly paycheck, car and benefits for two years versus still looking for employment. Hmmm... that's not a difficult choice for most. Now do you understand it or do the variables with which I was faced remain bewildering?

You are true contract mentality. Glad you got it you deserve it. You wont be there 2 years for one thing. Secondly, you will never go anywhere else. Never. Enjoy every minute of your 2 years, or 1 year, or 4 months and then enjoy being jobless AGAIN. Loser. and again, and again, and again. That is how contract goes. always unemployed again and again. You have ruined your career options completely. Sucks to be you!

The problem is there are many of us now stuck in this situation. I think we all realize we committed career suicide by accepting these awful positions, but you don't need to be an ass.

Gawd, again with the "career" shit. For chrissakes, pharma (contract or not) does NOT equal career. Come back to reality now, Cinderella.

I guess I will just keep looking. I appreciate all the candid info. It sounds like contract is the worst possible gig around.
