Most folks Merck will move to the bus or train station. Nothing to do at WHS but "support" and most support people in NJ would really enjoy their job a lot less, if possible, in WHS because of the longer commute. Ironically longer, but just short of qualifying for consideration of relocation assistance. For all that he did very well, WHS is one of Vagelos' major blunders. Scientists can lead pharma companies but they are not necessarily blessed with skills that conribute to clever social and cultural engineering choices. WHS was a major factor in the present major disassociation of management from workers, especially at R&D. Seeing your CEO in your cafeteria is more motivating than hearing his helicopter overhead.
