Keep religion away from facts, it's embarrassing.
They scrap a lot because of the pressure to meet the impossible run rates, and some of the trainers are @$$holes towards the new people who feel conflicted when confronted with something "out of procedure" or rushed to keep up or "we don't have the tool for this, so we use whatever we got" and then catastrophic failure must be the new person's fault. Seniority wins, favoritism, biased upper management, NO REAL INVESTIGATION EVERRRRR!!!! Intimidation and pressure to stay quiet to keep the job while looking for another one. Who wants to work there when they have access to this site and determine whether or not to even try to work there?
There's so much complaining aimed at the new people. There's multiple sides to things. Feeling pressured in an environment that's supposed to have PROFESSIONALISM spells disaster. I have seen the frustration on new people having to deal with the hateful disgruntled employees that STILL WORK THERE. OP may not even work anywhere NEAR building 1 but has a rumor (his opinion) to share. Pitiful. If they stop rushing the process, and had the correct tools, and the trainers were ALL professional, then there'd be much less scrap. If only they were smart enough to get rid of tack sheets. Run rates have been brought up at every meeting imaginable for so many years, they want to pressure people but they never admit it out loud. Some run rates are literally impossible. But run rates are used to bully people to "speed up" and then upper management tells people in meetings "we never tell you to hurry, we want quality over quantity". They look the other way when we don't have tools that's out for calibration so we just use whatever we have, or SKIP THE PROCESS!!!!
It's as sneaky as a police officer purposely putting themselves in front of a vehicle so they can have the green light to shoot the driver.
The run rates are for the @$$holes to confront the "slow people who can't keep up". (quietly and privately)
How long until items come back from calibration?
Why did you dumb@$$e$ fire so many people that can calibrate our tools so we can go back to using them?
Fire the team leaders, we don't need them. Get rid of third shift, allow them to move to second or first shift. Allow only voluntary overtime. Stop assigning the A.O. to be the ears and eyes of the floor, you can just sneak up on people quickly and easily (unless you're FAT and LOUD and too social). The A.O. will ALWAYS choose who to snitch on and who gets to walk across the building laughing and talking and taking out their cell phone to record something to build up a case against that company.
