Are you nuts? A handful of women were harmed by a handful of men. The award and reach to all women is ridiculous. The cost will hurt the rest of us during the coming years and will create even more animosity toward women. Do you think anyone is going to see a woman promoted as anything but a good HR move in the next several years? I am female and joined after the lawsuit window. I like it here but am considering leaving because of the attitude of women about this suit. I've been in the industry a very long time and what happened here was not unique other than the specific cases. There was and is no blatant discrimination of women.

I am a female and was discriminated against....and received money for compensatory damages. If you don't like being there, then get your experience and get out! It's your choice! I really am truly sorry if you receive ill effects from this lawsuit. What happened to me, I don't wish on anyone! However, sometimes when one door closes, another one opens.....so, if you don't like being there, then seek another opportunity!

I had been with this company for many years when this lawsuit began. My sentiment was these women spearheading this lawsuit were a bunch of lazy opportunists. I had always worked hard and I felt as though I was fairly rewarded and compensated. I won a bunch of national awards and all my managers loved me. I never felt discriminated against....until I got a manager from HELL. He was a true misogynist and started an HR file on me for NO reason. My field contact reports were pure fiction...I can go on and on. It was a dreadful experience that a dedicated, top-performing employee did not deserve. To the ladies that spearheaded the suit, my apologies for assuming you were lazy reps looking for an easy paycheck. Nobody can understand unless they've had this experience themselves. Myself included. I would have greatly preferred not having had this experience and would have gladly passed on any money/damages if given a choice. I am not a litigious sort but I am DISGUSTED by the way I was treated by this organization and I'm glad that they have to write me a check for the heartache they caused.

What I don't support is all of the other women receiving $20K checks when nothing was done to harm them. It is easy to see far and wide abuse but the reality is, you know nothing beyond what happened with your manager. Others are far to quick to jump in with oh yeah, me too. We earned ours as well. The problem was WIDESPREAD. That is what a jury or your peers found. Had we been paid the same as our male counterparts, this suit would never have been classified as class action.

I earn my money as well. I left the cesspool of Novartis a couple of years ago. I now have a base salary well in to the 6 figures, with a much nicer company car than a Ford Fusion, very lucrative bonus structure and better benefits.
My nice little check today will make for a nice vacation.

You'd seriously need to have your head buried deep in the sand to work here for any length of time over the last dozen years with that viewpoint. Impossible to avoid that that women got paid less (in general) and were man-handled in a whole host of ways on a regular basis by the few bad apples that are always around in the DM ranks.
