Congrats Geoff and Karen!

We are talking about progress, our competition made progress a couple years ago they found SOLUTIONS. I wonder why their stock prices are so much better than ours? Not rocket science.

It could be a deliberate strategy. Depress the stock price at the time of the annual stock grant, and receive your new stock option and RSU grants at a relatively low price.

No way, this meteoric slow down has been years in the making, going all the way back to Neutron Omar in 2011. This stock price meltdown is not a short term deal, we will go lower, much lower for years.

How these two ascended into their roles is Wharton case study in itself.

“If the company is not leading, driving or inspiring change, the CFO needs to step up and do that.” Karen Parkhill, 2018

The CFO is nothing but a historian.. when sales takes a backseat to finance, hr, legal, regulatory, the company is doomed to fail.. sales is revenue and the only thing that matters. Think it doesn't.. stick around(if you can.)

The new CTO knows artificial intelligence. That's the future. We are competing with Google and Apple

Well if that's not a generalized empty statement I don't know what is. You deserve a management role.

Medtronic makes stuff and should focus on that. AI is just noise that might creep into a few software driven devices. Explain to how AI is going to make a physical TAVR valve better?

The new CTO is 63. By the time he’s got basic technical familiarity with the companies portfolio he’ll be hitting mandatory retirement. He does know how to say “AI” though so that’s good.

He’s empire building like he’s got 10 years to run it all…. Haven’t seen as grabby an Exec in a long time, esp at that level.
