So Valeant did its first round of layoffs. 400 in Rochester- but not all at once? 300 already? 100 in November? Maybe 700 more at other sites? When and where?
Politicians say that the layoffs in Rochester are over? 50 new D&R jobs in Rochester as the California sites are closing and the people are moving to Rochester?
Second round of layoffs? Not in Rochester as the politicians have stepped in and saved everyone's' jobs. So all of the second round layoffs are happening at the other sites?
Strange though because all of the "other" sites actually make product. Who is going to make the products if they layoff in manufacturing?
800 million in cost savings? Seems the layoffs were much less than needed to achieve this goal. Does this mean that there will be 2 years of quiet layoffs (layoffs that are small enough not to upset local politicians) in order to make this number?
Seems like the Valeant CEO was thrown off his game. He usually comes in and makes all the cuts at once. This time there was so much push back to his plans he had to change from an all at once cutback plan to a more gradual one. Slow death vs. fast death approach to the job cuts. Valeant CEO has shifted his game off his model and is now doing the slow death approach.
Valeant came in with certain financial expectations. Having to drastically change the game plan may effect the quarterly financial results and make some investors nervous that Valeant is not in control of the game and may not be able to execute on their. plan.
