Company could close doors in 2014?

CEO doesnt sound optimistic if the cuts go through. The cuts will be going through by the way. What is the purpose of his op-ed? Bio is not that different from labcorp and quest except they dont have near the scale. They have bought labs and laid people off which he accuses labcorp and quest of doing. Milford anyone? Is he upset that his company is not in the cat bird's seat like the other two and just lashing out? He wonders why labs are being targeted for these massive cuts, yet women have complained about being charged 2000 bucks for a pap test from bio-reference sometimes. Gee, maybe the company played a role in all this just as about every other lab in the country did.

Bio will be around for a long time. YES, the cuts will hurt, in fact it will BURN just like it will with every lab. I used to be a pessimist when it came to this company, but they surprise me with innovation and new sales/product strategies every year.

Now lets look at all the other "little" labs. These cuts will destroy companies like Neo and other regional Fish and flow labs which could mean more opportunity for labs like Bio to survive.

The one thing that is certain, the lab world as we know it wont be the same.

Innovation like a 2000 dollar pap test? LOL. Face it, you are gonna be in a world of hurt next year. While labcorp and quest have been buying up/doing joint ventures with hospital labs, you have been making big mistakes. Buena salud anyone? LOL

Innovation? Certainly not on the GenPath side; all they're doing there is polishing turds (OnkoMatch and GenArray) and trying to pawn it of as "innovation." Neither of those two tests bring any value to a physician.
