Company Cars for Surgical Solutions

What is this with the directive about not filling up your car on the weekends or taking it on personal vacations? If this is the case then why do we have an amount deducted from each paycheck for company car usage? This place is getting out of hand. Since this is the new rule when will they stop deducting the amount from our checks? This is a violation of IRS rules and puts the company at risk. The new Surgical Solutions leadership should be ashamed.

Speaking from experience. If they deduct a certain amount from your pay check each pay period for personal use..then what they are telling you to do is against the law. It is that simple. That is part of the perk of having a company car.

They must stop the bi-weekly deduction in order to inforce this new made up rule.

By the way. YOU CAN TAKE THE NAME TYCO OUT OF COVIDIEN, BUT YOU CANNOT TAKE THE TYCO ILLEGAL MANAGEMENT OUT OF COVIDIEN!

Above poster again....just to put that into perspective I don't pay a cent for my car other than the personal mileage at the end of the year for tax purposes and we are not half as big as Covidien. I'm sure the Sr Execs just need more money to go on their elaborate vacations or to fly first class or to take their limos or car services to and from the airport when traveling. Im sure that is not cut out of the budget.

I got that message. I laughed when I saw the part about no filling up or car washes on the weekend. My manager added in "no gas over $3.50 per gal". Well how do you expect us to do that? No I will just fill up and wash the car when I do on your time instead of mine. I am on the road while most are asleep each morning driving to the far reaches of the earth and you want me to wait and fill up on Monday as I leave? You have got to be kidding! Bryan, Chris and Lori, please get a grip! You have a very disgruntled sales force and you are making things worse. You are making the prior bunch look like angels.

We at Covidien have been paying $80 a month for quite a long time. The whole part of not filling up on the weekends is a joke though...we're in medical supplies and have never been given that directive!
