Coming up on one year since the Shire acquisition layoffs.

So I was part of the layoffs last March, and I couldn’t be happier.

This post isn't meant to be critical of anyone who stayed, or got rehired.

I just want to let those of you who aren’t happy with the company, and it’s direction know that there are many other options out there.

I left Takeda salaried at 81k, ranked in the top 20% and was struggling to break the 6 figure mark while being micromanaged to veeva, with near weekly reports due to some level of management in a pod system with one awful partner who acted like my second manager, and another who did whatever they could to keep under the radar.

About a month and a half after layoffs I landed a role that salaried me at 105k, and 8k bonus per quarter at plan uncapped. I was paid a bonus my first quarter with the company (Even though I was only in field for 80% of it), and the next two since I have exceeded my goal and have been paid accordingly.

If you are happy with the status quo, stay. But if you strive for a better situation, don’t be afraid to interview.

good luck to all.

Nice! Plus a severence!

I was let go last March. It really sucked, but I soon found employment elsewhere. It's actually a better situation with a smaller territory and a product with lots of patent life left. I still have lots of friends at Takeda and I wish them the best of luck. Unfortunately Amitiza, Dexilant, and Vyvanse will soon be off patent. I hear Motegrity is not doing well either. How many reps are needed to sell Trintellix?

Good luck to all.

P.S. Thanks Takeda for my big azz severance check!

Literally everybody I know who was let go, found a position as good or better then what they had, with Takeda.

I also know a handful of people who weren't let go and they left on their own volition with better opportunities!

Happy anniversary! I was let go and will always have fond memories of my time at Takeda. I left behind a lot of friends and have so much respect for so many people that are still with Takeda. Just know that there are many opportunities out there. I found a great company to work for and actually better off because Takeda let me go.
