Just look at who is at VP levels one level down from the ELT with no relevant experience in the important functions they are leading. You can probably see that they all got promoted 3 times in the last 2-3 years. The only credential they have is they are DEI candidates. The practice is widespread in Commercial, HR, IT and Corporate Affairs. I am not saying all of them are incompetent, but a big number are. And these clowns are making decisions about you and me with very little information! Way to go on setting up BMS for success with great talent.

This is very true across the org and not only DEI. Leaders as we knew them don’t exist anymore. Gen Z will suffer immensely due to the horrible millennial leadership. Baby boomers are gone and Gen X will be gone in a few years. When only millennials remain, it will be even more chaotic. The generations before the millennials are not able to create the best next gen leaders.

This makes them busy and puts them in a protected class. It also hides their incompetency. And they continue to cause harm to the business without any accountability.

Most people of color are not DEI here. DEI is more of an issue in college admissions specifically Harvard, Yale etc where alumni and rich donor kids also have an upper hand.

They quickly call out what they perceive as injustices (and always ready to invoke an R-word, btw “t” at the end is silent in DEI speak), demanding accountability with a fervor that echoes throughout organizations…

But have we paused to ask whether this approach nurtures solutions — or just creates noise at best & business destruction at worst? Some argue it only amplifies divisions and animosity under the guise of equity. Could it be time to rethink how these conversations unfold?

POCs “always”…is that a fair claim? You know all POCs and you know what they think, feel and say when a workplace issue arises? Do women do the same? After all they are the biggest beneficiaries of DEI initiatives in this country. Just curious how you validate your claims…I don’t think you can. I think you are just a basic person, with basic skills, with frustrated class aspirations in need of some to blame for your inadequacies. Heard recently that BMS Development is doubling down on Diversity in Trial Enrollment though FDA under new administration has dismissed that mandate. Why is the leadership so woke? Can any activist shareholder take any action?
