Closing Day Departures

These Sr people are gone because they didn't want to stay.....and they are getting considerable payouts, so why stay? For the most part they were very strong leaders, who were directly responsible for Biomet's success.

Agreed.

So day one has passed and the majority of Biomet people still don't know if they have a job moving forward in the new organizations. It's disgraceful the way the Biomet team members are being treated.

Yes but that's the norm at Biomet. A select group are given information, the others are shoved in a dark corner. It's a very secretive group to work for. They just find it too difficult to level with people.

This is from a Zimmer Board. It's an excerpt from a recent Biomet case. If Biomet management and HR encourage this type of business model they aren't the type to tell you anything about a departure. Who will lead HR in this new company? Talk about a clash in culture.

"88 pages total. This is about half a page. Yes the entire document is available online. Current reps will have a hard time adjusting to new rules and selling on value. Nothing has changed. The company at all levels only understands retaliation. If this is how you sell then stick around.

• For a $30000 order-Dr___ was given $20000 worth of cash, goods and free services . kickbacks nationwide as part of its established business model.”
• Rock concerts, cigars.
• For example a provider who ordered 200 implants would receive $100000 in free implants and equipment
• In an effort to disguise practices of providing kickbacks to induce the sale of products, reps are encouraged to offer medical providers checks made out to them directly to and improperly characterized as “education grants.”
• Dr__ and Dr__ were both given payments for converting their business from a competitor.

• Trips for surgeons include hotel, air, meals, golf, fishing, spa
• Dr ___ received free trips to resort for brother and sister in law
• The payments for ___ were actually kickbacks intended to retain and encourage Dr ___ business."

All decisions regarding terminations come from the parent company, Zimmer, including when certain positions will be told, and the timing of the upcoming layoffs. Biomet management has had no say in who will be moving on, and is in as much of the dark as the average low level employee. This comes from a Zimmer employee

This is a new company, called Zimmer Biomet. They have announced the Sr management and several levels of management VP's, Directors, etc. These newly named managers are making the necessary decisions to form their departments and move forward. There is NO Zimmer management...those not identified are out, either by choice or necessity. There is NO Biomet management....many of them are also out, retiring, cashing in or moving on. It's a completely new team of management and a new company. Layoffs, retirements, downsizing, terminations or whatever you want to call it WILL happen and they are currently happening. Not pretty, but it's how things work.

Lol...Yay, we have a new senior management team that is going to tell us what a strong and great team we are! Meanwhile mid and low level management, you know, the ones that actually affect employees, are in the dark, some still carry a chip on their shoulder. People from the biomet side don't have clear direction, and it appears zimmer side is the same way. So now that we are one big happy family, whose job is it to communicate? Because it's not happening.

When are they going to start cutting or replacing VP and Director level? There is so much dead weight at these levels. So many that have been coasting for so long, need to depart
