Hey everyone! I saw an opening for cel in ms-- can anyone tell me a lil more about this position? How many days per week is it ? What do you really do, honestly!!! Mind sharing salary -- I appreciate any info- thanks!

I have a phone inverview for this position as too. What kind of hours do they put in?

Its exactly the same role as standard RSD (often known as MSL)

Main difference is target physicians who are not top 10% KOLS but the 10-20% who are often busy community practioners and are not necessarily based in acedmic centers.

You will be in all the same Novartis meetings/ TCs/ receive same info as RSDs

primary role will be delivering data (clinical trials, phase 4, post marketing outcomes) to target docs. Additional role will be to check for interest in ongoing clinical trials

Great entry into a customer facing pharma role

its a full time job so M-F......however...

Like all field roles at Novartis (and I mean ALL) its a total joke from a lifestyle standpoint
....easy as hell...no oversight at all....weekends totally free as essentially are most of your Fridays.

If you've ever held any other non field corporate job you will understand exactly what I mean .

It's the better job between Hem/Onc Rep and any other specialty job with NVS. Trust this - nobody I know (and I've been here longer than 20 years) works a 5 day week.

Okay - if you mean the CEL only works 1 to 2 days a week, then it's a better job than Hem/Onc Rep...every single one of us rarely has to work more than a 3 day week! WoooT!

I generally work 4 days - fridays and sometimes mondays are admin/telecon days - there has been 3 day and a couple of 2 days weeks from time to time - but mostly I work 4 days...easy days - maybe a call before lunch, lunch with the group, wrap up and on my way home by 2pm

I like CEL job and would go for it if i thought it would do something for my career path

So you are a cel right now? Do you ride with the reps? What is the entry level salary please? Any further info would help!!!! Just want to know if this is worth my
Time !!!

If I were you I would stay in clinical practice. Not a very stable position at the moment. The pay is low to mid 6 figures, probably sane or less then you make in practice. But do as you will!

just another clueless overly entitled "customer facing" pharma jag off..

do you really think a nurse or other non MD in clinical practice makes anywhere close to the low to mid 6 figures you trumpeted above....in clinical practice nurses actually work for a living...and have real responsibility beyond bitching on cafe pharma and selecting which wraps to truck over to your "customer" and make on average 50 to 60K.....

god i wish they fired half of you....

Wow...you clearly have never had a real job. Clinical practice pays very well, you would know this if you practiced. CELs are not all RNs....there are many pharmd, NPs and PAs. Maybe you should go back to school so when these layoffs come....and they are coming...you have some hope for continued employment.
