Class Action filed in NJ against Amarin

NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Wolf Popper LLP has filed a class action lawsuit against Amarin Corp. plc ("Amarin") (NASD:AMRN), and Joseph S. Zakrzewski (Amarin's CEO), in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, on behalf of all persons who purchased shares of Amarin common stock on the open market, or pursuant to Registration Statements filed with the SEC, during the period July 9, 2009 through October 15, 2013, and who were damaged thereby. This action alleges claims for violations of Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
The Complaint charges that defendants misrepresented the prospects for Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") approval of Amarin's Vascepa drug for the ANCHOR indication and failed to disclose that the FDA had informed Amarin that there was a lack of prospective, controlled clinical trial data demonstrating that pharmaceutical reduction of triglycerides significantly reduces residual cardiovascular risk.
Persons who purchased Amarin common stock during the Class Period are urged to contact Wolf Popper to discuss their rights.
If you are a member of the Class, you may move the Court no later than January 3, 2014, and request that the Court appoint you as lead plaintiff. A lead plaintiff is a representative party acting on behalf of other class members in directing the litigation. To be appointed lead plaintiff, the Court must decide that your claim is typical of the claims of other class members, and that you will adequately represent the class.
Wolf Popper LLP has extensive experience representing shareholders in securities class actions and has successfully recovered billions of dollars for defrauded investors. The reputation and expertise of the firm in shareholder and other class action litigation has been repeatedly recognized by the courts, which have appointed the firm to major positions in complex multi-district and consolidated litigations.

Rep here
I would think long and hard about anything involving litigation. Even if you have an attorney just look over your severance and request a few things, the gossip flys that you are going to sue. In this day of the internet it's very easy to look people up, if your name pops up in court paperwork against a previous employer you are done.
May even show in a class action, really not sure. Just something to think about before you leap. Attorneys always want your money!
Healthy to move on.

CYA from a paranoid soul

I will tell you what they did. First of all, I was coached and harassed to sell off label. Blatantly called out in front of my peers. I then complained to HR and an investigation was done. NOTHING happened to my manager. I was laid off due to the RIF. The company states it was the bottom 50% of performers, which is total BS. I was performing better than many reps in my area and definitely better than 50% of the country. When I asked someone, my DM, my RBD and HR, to give me an explanation of WHY i was severed, they gave me a pile of crap. It was where ZS associates drew the lines compared to where I live. NOTHING about being in the bottom half. When I asked them "Why does the news in the media say the bottom 50% were laid off and how do I explain it in an interview?" They told me "anyone who knows anything about Amarin will understand" the only thing people on the street know about Amarin is that it is run by a bunch of crooked MFers. They also know they got us on the cheap and now our base salary numbers we quote in upcoming interviews are low as hell. This company was a total sham from day one and I cant believe I ever fell for this shit.

Never saw anything that said bottom 50% were let go!

If you were so concerned about selling off label why didn't you go to the FDA? Now you just want to cry about it.

Why are some pharma reps the biggest bunch of complainers that ever existed?

I'm not an outsider!

Based on comments from this board Amarin let go all of their reps from the top 50%.
