What a difference a year makes. If you will remember, I never had an issue with Palin's crosshairs targeting politicians who should be targeted to be removed from office. I've often stated that polictical discussions get heated and there is nothing wrong with that! I don't care at all what Hoffa said, especially when he is not an elected official. I do think obama, not as a candidate but as the sitting president, could have addressed this in his speech. And don't throw out that crap that he wasn't on stage for 20 minutes. That should have given his speech writers time for a one sentence statement, maybe in recognition to the fact he is supposed to represent all Americans. But hey, he is no leader and has never pretended to have anything but scorn and disdain for other positions or points of view. And in reality, he was there to speak with the teamsters. It's their meeting and they have the right to their views. Biden is more problematic as he has also moved to candidate instead of current leader. But we've all known this guy is a buffoon and really, does anyone pay attention to what he says?
We give far too much attention and power to theatrics and potty politics by the endless newstime given to this non-issue. Today, I heard nuts complaining because Romney presented a detailed job plan. What a thought, concentrating on the issues instead of who is trashing who, and having the ability to draft a comprehensive proposal! I heard Pawlenty comment about how he lost the race by time spent thoughtfully considering and developing deep policy plans, then getting back page comments because of the circus taking over the front page.
Haven't we learned what happens when we concentrate on a noise-making showboat with no substance? Haven't we learned what happens when we vote in someone based on hype and excitement instead of real substance? We don't need someone jazzy and exciting in the whitehouse. We need someone with sound economic understanding, business experience in the real world, understanding of the touchy foreign situations, and who can lead and inspire through facts, logic, and review of all options. We do not need another idealogue with nothing beyond the surface, who morphs to what they think we want to hear.
We cannot afford another obama. Let the juveniles expose themselves with the games but quit giving it air time! Give air time to position on issues, ability to think on their feet in debates (and what is said relatively uncoached), and why one candidate or another deserves your vote to lead the greatest nation in the world.
