I recall we at first were so glad to go to Walmart, as they labeled the products "Made with Pride in The U.S.A." Soon the management changed, and soon they realized that it was a mistake. They re-labeled it as "Made In USA." In less than 2 years it was realized that that, too, was a mistake. They re-labeled it as "Assmebled in USA of foreign parts". Yet one more time Walmart, and now many other large department stores, realized that Brand USA is no longer in "their" interest.

For a while (nearly a year) you could not find where the product was made, until we witnessed "Assembled in Mexico with US component."
What a relief!
Then we saw, that Walmart opened a gigantic (several hundred of acres) distribution center in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Yes, we saw on 60-Minutes, 20-20, Dateline.
Then we started seeing "Made in China" labels on T-shirt, hats, and shoes.
Then we saw, Sony Walkman made in Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan. We adopted it by dozens, since we could not live without Walkman.
