Chicago

run away as far as you can. The two managers who run the 'sales show', are absolutely worthless and have no respect for anyone. You will be treated like trash. If you do get the interview, ask them how many reps have left in last 3-4 years.

Typically not a poster -only an observer. But, I have to speak up and second this comment. Chicago is truly a mess and has been for the past few years. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere, if you value your reputation and self worth. I experienced it first hand. No professional should be treated the way they treat people. Even the top performers are completely disrespected. As a rep, you'll take the blame for the errors of everyone from the phlebotomist to the courier to the lady answering the phone in billing. There are other reputable jobs out there - don't waste your time here being made a fool of.

Totally agree. Chicago mgmt is a complete joke. Insurances helped us for years. Didn't need to sell. Now hospitals are moving in and changes need to be made. Good reps were ranked high when they sat at home...that's my two cents.

The RMBD that made a mess of Chicago has been demoted. New senior leadership and new RMBD. I agree though, that even with the new leadership, trying to clean up labcorp's image will take a long time. The damage has been done.

Well, the former RMBD may have been promoted, but the new RMBD wasn't cutting it as the ARMBD and STILL got promoted!!! Chicago has been a mess for many years. If they hadn't had the lion's share of UHC volume in our division, they would have been bottom performing region simply due to the mismanagement. It doesn't help that the mismanagement starts at the top and worms it's way down.

It feels like you are working in a labor camp. No matter what you do, you will hardly be recognized for the great work you are doing. But if an account is lost, you will be axed for no fault of yours. The company and local management as a whole can be summarized in just one word: WORTHLESS.

Sitting here reading this i thought this was about the northeast division. Funny how what you said is the way the northeast is as well. Exactly! Labcorp is not professional and either makes losers out of people in management or people were bad management material to begin with. I think it starts at the top in Burlington, in my opinion. This is why unions are popping up everywhere across the country within Labcorp. It's not hard to treat employees with respect. It must be done intentionally to treat people like shit. What goes around comes around

I wish the super D King opens his eyes and improves the operations. Right from the beginning you are set on a path to failure. It has been such a frustrating experience here.

It will be business as usual until something major occurs. For example, managers are not meeting budget. That is when someone will get axed but as long as budget is met, all will be the exact same. There is no management development programs, no professional growth tracks, and certainly no respect between management and employees. It's hard to expect normalcy when you have internal company imbreeding (not figuratively obviously) and a boy's club. Management promotes people that they groomed and people they will be the best yes men and puppets, for their cause and plan. You heard it here first and nothing will change until a major event happens. Like the budget going south. Moral of the story, it's all about the benjamins baby, and everything else is a distant second.

can anyone tell me how is it in working at Lab Corp in Chicago? Is it that bad as described above? I see three sales positions open. Which one is better?

Do yourself a favor and reread the posts above. Better yet, read it a 3rd time and you should have your answer. The answer is none, and move on. This place will take your soul and make you feel like you didnt even graduate high school. You are treated like garbage and it is not a place for a person who carries yourself in a professional manner.

By the way, if you read it over and still want to work at labcorp then you belong there for sure. You will fit right in. Nobody will listen to you. You will be treated as an order taker but you will be held accountable as a sales person with an atrocious comp plan along with unrealistic sales goals. Good luck
