Layoff is inevitable. From all current signs and comments, the 809/770 Ph3 results are mediocre at best. My personal opinion is that the absolute FEV1 will not reach 5%. Most likely 3-4%. It will be a disauster if it is below 3%.

1. If results are below 3%, or 2.5%, 30-50% people gone.
2. If results are 3-4%, 5-10% may be gone, even though Vertex can still fine NDA and get it approved.
3. If results are 5% or above, chance is low, and some small layoffs that Vertex probably will not public announce.

Layoff may happen as early as right after Ph3 results release. List of people for layoff is already ready, just a matter of when to pull the trigger and how many to let go.

CSO most likely will be gone if 809/770 results are not good.

However, I do think the CF franchise will go on...

If results do not come out by the end of June, consider it bad. Results should come out in the next 1 week or so. Anytime is possible...

Nah. The company got a deal on the cost/sq. ft when they signed the lease. Some big law firm will gladly pay more to move in. We may even make good money on the sublet rental. The building and its lease are the least of our problems.

Oh, happy days. This crapola of a place has good news? I'll believe it when I see it with my own eyes. In the mean time, I'm interviewing like crazy because I believe few of us will make the next layoff cut.
