He's done it at every pharma company he's bought. Look out a Bristol, Merck, etc. this guy is just beginning and there is still PLENTY of fat at these companies to cut.

Yes and when his business model fails, and the pipelines dry up and investors catch wind and begin to pull out, that will be the beginning of the demise of Pearson and his cronies. It's not if ladies and gentleman, but when. When will be here sooner than you all think.

Look at the risk/reward of R&D. Pearson is no dummy, get rid of most of it and continue to buy products with solid cash flow, reduce overlapping costs. There will be some R&D, but all those bs researcher's "pet projects" are over.

You got it. B+L do a poor job managing Development ...forget about the Research .Amazing how many people can be cut without affecting key projects with real launch dates in the pipeline.
Really interesting how so many people can be cut, yet still keep so many managers !

Be patient, they will be cut as well.

And how does any of this make your life better?

It doesn't, but people being naive or uneducated about the industry trends is tragic. Everyone in Pharma should be working on some kind of plan b for employment. You may make this a career, but the odds are increasingly against it. Preparation is a good thing.

This is more than cutting fat, my friend. Here's what an analyst thinks of it from Seekin Alpha- he cuts a lot of 'fat' and but still has less than $500 mil in cash! Yes some debt can be good debt, but really? This is a doomed model in the long run. We shall see:

Trust me, the more you see of Valeant, from the inside, the more apparent this will become. Sad but true.
