How has the group faired with the placement process? I hear many have landed as S1s and people are upset.

CCR, Coronary Care Group or Integrilin which many have had coronaries after the reviews.
Oh, for crying aloud. It's a job. Most of the CCR people are not going to do squat about some BS ranking/placement. Who cares? Really. It's a sales job with a free car and lots of easy drive time. Not much out there for us lifers. I for one, will do my job until they tell me I no longer have one. In the meantime, calling on labs to sell a truly remarkable product is still fun. For the kids, if you want a career go and do something else.
Hey CCR old timer, it is a big deal when your target pay out continues to go in the opposite direction and you are now only paid bonus on an annual basis. I get where you are going with your comments but others in the group are not in a financial position to go backwards. All we ask is to be treated fairly in the process.

How about layoff time. S2 is a better spots than S1 dont you think? Resume is being polished this weekend and the search will begin. Payout difference is a bummer for the house payments.
While I don't agree with the decrease in bonus or that it is paid annually, you should have financed your house payments, home insurance, etc. based on your salary alone. It seems like you overextended yourself.
For good CCR reps there are good other jobs out there in device or with smaller biotechs. However, many of you may have heard what happened with J n J laying off all of their cordis reps in the lab. Many former ccr reps moved to cordis in the last few yrs. Good luck to people who leave and do not listen to others that state it is impossible to do.
You can ride the gravy train only so long. Most if not all will be displaced soon, I suspect after November and the severance date. Having a low rating will really hurt us when we are trying to find new jobs. Companies only want to see your most recent rating, the most 3 years and having a low rating will make it difficult especially with all the great candidates out there.
The reason to keep an S1 is purely based on economics, why pay someone more of a salary if the job is already being done by a lesser rank. S1-S3 is not new as there are pharma companies out there that already have these designations. What is the ongoing concern is the lack of bonuses across the board as this is a for profit company last time I checked.
