Purdue’s own “dentist” D. Haddox who claimed to be an expert in pain management coined the term pseudoaddiction and we talked about it all the time! They pulled one over on their own reps too because we didn’t learn until about 2008 or 2009 that he basically made the phenomenon up himself and presented it all around the pain community and it wasn’t really a valid thing. Purdue never told us though! We had to figure it out by what was in the media. They just quit training us to talk about it all of a sudden it wasn’t part of the conversation! I feel misled by multiple things Purdue touted as fact back then!
