Car usage wear and tear

Was offered a position, is the monthly stipend enough to cover wear on my car, does the car take a beating ? How many miles per day, beginning to think this is a crap shoot

No moron. Doesn't the amount of the car stipend depend on the individual contract?

And doesn't the amount of wear and tear on your car depend on the size of your territory?

These aren't dumb questions. I was just wondering how the OP could ask such a vague and generalized question when every reps situation is different.....

In reality, the problem is that they need to up the 19 cents a mile. Then it would be more fair. The wear and tear on larger territories would get more money to pay for repairs and offset depreciation.

This car thing is terrible. The only people not complaining are living in big cities and hardly drive at all. Most geographies are huge. You may have to drive 2 -3 hours to get to an account. You will wonder every day if your vehicle will survive all the highways and countless miles...well not countless, but usually over 1,000 miles a week. You will start to realize that the cost of gas affects your bank account in a big way. Buy 100 gallons of gas - gas goes from $2 to $4 and there is $200 out of YOUR pocket, not the company's. You will start asking yourself if going to certain accounts is worth the wear and tear on your vehicle. And at the end of the contract, your vehicle will have depreciated so much that the $600 they gave you for payments, insurance, oil changes, tires, maintenance will seem like a joke. The company is really getting over on us by paying $600 a month and only 19 cents a mile. We are happy gas prices are low now, but they were not 6 months ago. It will go back up and when it does, we will all have less money for groceries.

Correct....on target. Unless we have small territories we need to have a company car! I would not consider taking a job with outrageous drives if using a personal car.

Accident and you screw your wallet, rates and chances of getting another job.

Not worth it guys!! Cost me more on my car than the pay. Another way PSS is making money off their employees. Horrible company.
