Can you name one good CTM that you have/had at Merck?

Allen Weiss....Worked his way up from representative...Knew his stuff...and was honest.

Lucky bastard...got out when it was good...Had 8-10 other managers...all sucked.

Poor managers...Merck says jump..they say how high.....thats what they all do now...its a thankless job of riding with and ranking....is the money really worth it...there is no making folks happy anymore and they have no idea how they really have to watch what they say....it would be funny if it wasnt so sad! Can anyone really look at a CTL and say that is who/what I would want to be?

Actually, there have been many. They did well, were paid well and have been forced out of Merck, along with practically every good rep we had.

Same here. Let them retire in peace or anonymous at other companies. Those that refused to be the executioners were long gone. Funny you mentioned it. Those managers were the first casualties of PIPs then. All of a sudden they were gone. They asked why Merck was going down this path and they were gone. That tactics was perfected and applied to the reps a few years later on and is still going on.

Best manager without question- Dick Gilligan in upstate NY. He's the kind of manager that made you want to do a good job just because it made him look good too. He was down to earth, realistic, inspritational, smart and will be greatly missed when he retires.
