Can we please strike the term "disruptive technology" from our industry?

Cell phones were a disruptive technology. Tablets were a disruptive technology. MP3 players were a disruptive technology.

Packaging old stuff in new boxes and trying to bamboozle hospitals into buying obsolete product and instruments is not disruptive technology. Selling a million dollar robot that nobody wants or needs is not disruptive technology. Knocking off a product and selling it cheaper is not disruptive technology. One millimeter increments to our poly is not disruptive technology.

When a company enters our industry with a cure for arthritis, that will be disruptive technology. Don't let 2-bit MBAs and old peddlers who have read the latest Forbes magazine tell you what our industry has done over the last 10 years is disruptive.

Disruptive was born in AWM, with the introduction of Pico. This product has disrupted the entire surgical incision, small wound market for VACs, as it is killing KCI. My territory and many like mine, will exceed 700k this year on Pico. If you erode a competitor's (KCI) sales by 27 million, which we should generate on Pico, then you are disrupting your competitor, and their way of thinking. Bring back the fine Renasys line, and we will have a dual threat of disruption. The only difference between Pico and Renasys, The Sequel, is that Renasys will disrupt the market pricing by 45 percent plus, as this is the only way any customer will take a look at this POS again.

You are either delusional or stupid. NO WAY in hell Pico does 27M this year! Not even close! No argument that Pico has taken some market share from KCI, but it's minimal at best. Will you have some accounts that look at Renasys again...yes. These are the accounts that hate KCI. Renasys has fucked more customers than a $30 white during the World Cup. Btw, you will not do 700K this year in Pico. I have seen the numbers and half the country is under water. This is a dying division run by inept leaders like Brad Adams and Frenchie.
