I come to this site every now and then to see if there's any valuable information.......I don't know why....

Let's talk about some real problems we would like to see corporate address. How about SAP? It's a real problem. SAP is literally making in difficult to sell. How about inside support in the individual branches? Can we talk about some real problems and possible solutions? I'd like to see my stock come back up. I know fellow employees would too. So let's start a conversation about real issues and ideas to make things better. We have some extremely experienced, SKILLED sales people!!! How can we support them to do what our organization is supposed to do.....SELL???
 




SAP should run in the background for the warehouse and anybody that wants to use it. We need a program that works with Mac or PC, on and offline. Relying on hotspot or cell phone WiFi is too cumbersome. Bring back the old software system called eMagine Give the sales people the tools they need. There is nothing wrong with multiple tools - sometimes we need to use the website to check stock. Entering an order, solving a problem or doing an equipment or supply quote in an office is NOT a bad thing... especially doing small equipment quotes. It gives you something to refer back to and follow up on. The PD website needs a new fresh look with much better searches. I would be willing to bet bur and diamond sales are way down. Make the search engine able to search partial words. Example: Chlorohexidine. Who really knows how to spell that? Dental rep or dental assistant. - neither can spell.. I would also be interested to see if a monthly vs semi
Monthly specials flier is helping. I doubt it. More equipment publications would also be nice. Each branch needs a website to post events, or have a Facebook / social
Media page with pictures and directions and operating hours. Last - throw some serious cash out to enhance some merchandise promotions and blitz programs.

I agree, but the old software is never going to comeback. I do think we should make some changes to SAP to make it better. Offline is a good place to start. It's so slow it and incredibly frustrating. Corporate, if you're reading, do we have people dedicated and consistently working on SAP to improve it?

I believe that's exactly the plan. What do you think hiring a Director of Mergers and Acquisitions is about? His role is to learn the business, solicit and review offers from potential buyers, and ultimately "unlock value" for stakeholders. Look at his background. 75% of the companies he's worked for sold out either on his watch or directly thereafter. That's what he does - sell companies. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. We had to implement a resource planning software to even make this business slightly marketable. Albeit barely functioning and almost killing PDCO along the way, that's behind us now. Prepare to watch the window dressing get changed and upgraded in pursuit of a buyer. Let's just hope it's someone with the vision and resources to take us back to being a true industry leader rather than a private equity group looking to pick the bones clean. I for one and optimistic. If you are still reading these posts, then you should be too. Otherwise, we should have jumped ship with the rest of the rats once it was clear we were taking on water.

i am not one of the so called rats you described. I am a pdco employee who has lived through the great times before the moronic Minnesota Mafia took over. They did so much damage to this company and especially to the loyal employees who helped to build this company to greatness. They took from us and made themselves wealthy. I am disgruntled, I am pissed off and I am in financial distress. Their arrogance destroyed this company and it will never reach the levels it was. I am finally going to leave and join another company that seems to want to grow and who respects their employees. Enough is enough! I have faithfully tried to maintain some sanity here but I am spent. Good bye PDCO.

The fact that this company continued to dividend vs expand is dumbfounding. Look at Schein now, same industry challenges yet their decisions led to a company that is 5 times bigger than us. We were once on equal standing and they’ve left us in the dust.

Rogen Killian are the two fucksticks left that should get the punt, but then again, nothing will fix this place.

It seems all the "dudes" like you sell on price and price alone. You don't have a clue as to what this industry is about. You think you have all the answers when you are still wet behind the ears. Create a separate call in number for reps and customers into tech support accounting, with priority given to customers. Allow reps to use live chat for more than we are using it now for would speed things up.

Back to the basics in the field with consistency and hard work taking care of customers will lead to better sales. Some have lost sight of this so Las Vegas would be a great time to light that fire again. Oh.. and stop sending us so much junk email.

HAHAHAHA - SAP Anderson and his goons are still screwing with us long after they've left. Hard work and no more SAP is what it's going to take. But common sense has not been a strong point of this board and or leadership in general for a very long time. Not since Pete has there been any real leadership. RIP.
