The fucking tactless mf's. We were all sold a bag of shit from the first day Savient tried to put this bullshit on the market. Shame on me, and shame on them. Greed. Nothing but greed. So many of us came here thinking this was going to be a better opp. than the mess we were in before, now were right back where we started. Ground zero in the worst job market we have ever seen in our lifetime and in an industry that is going no where fast and you have no chance if you are over the age of 25 and have "talent and experience with relationships" to ever get another pharma or biotech job. Savient should be delisted, shut down, and sued. Period. Fuck you very much.....

I share your sentiments, trust me, and I'm in the same boat as you, but in all sincerity chin up, you don't want Savient...hell, even Savient doesn't want Savient, and certainly the stockholders don't. Give it a few week but if I had a crystal ball, here's what you'll see :

1) total pandemonium due to a large portion of the remaining folks resigned because they found a new job (I know of 4 already who are getting ready to drop the bomb),

2) customers / rheums (who at this point could not be more important), who have been left out in the cold, igorned, and been shuffled from one TSM to another, and have become more indifferent to KYX (if possible)

3) a sad ship of fools set sail for the land of misfit toys. Again, chin up, and send Lou a personal thank you note for doing you the favor of a mercy killing.

You're one of the lucky ones! At least you've got a severance while you look for a new job. Savient won't last another year. Cutting 60 jobs won't put a dent in the $34 million that Savient bleeds every quarter. How dumb has Savient's Board been for allowing this team of idiots to spend so much money irresponsibly? How many wasted marketing dollars have actually produced a patient?

amazing how savient history of failure repeats itself over the past 5 years. take a look at their 2009 fiasco. just about the whole company was purged in 09 to cut costs for a 2010 do over, and looks like BODY didn't learn anything in all that time. Stunning history of failures even though K is a good drug for the people it works in.

Very true post. I speak from experience...I was there from 2002-2006, made it through a few layoffs but then was one of the last standing. Decent severance so I cannot say anything bad. When they changed the name from BTG Pharma to Savient, it was the kiss of death.. I remember hearing about the gout drug way back then.......Move on like I did, I got a way better opportunity after being laid off. They did me a HUGE favor!!!! I literally didn't miss a beat with my last severance check to being on the payroll of my new job. I do realize it's a different day today in this industry and I was fortunate. I wish you all the best of luck!!

This step of cutting some of the employees was to show the creditors that management is doing something to cut costs. This is a lesson for everybody to pay attention to what is going on at the next job. You cant ignore the simple economics of $10 paid out for every dollar coming in. You should kick yourself being being such a dumb___. There have been numerous warnings of this cut happening by August and you ignored them. Maybe the reason why so little has been sold is nobody in SVNT is smarter than a 5th grader. The only lawsuit should be by your family against YOU for being such a idiot!

Sorry to hear that some of you will get layoff. I think I never understood, where are the patients? Why there are only handfull patients on the drug after almost 2 yrs after FDA approval.

What did they know and when did they know it?

I interviewed with SVNT over 2 years ago. They offered job. I did some research and said I like you and the drug, but where do you think the patients are going to come from. My research indicates your numbers might be high....... SVNT leadership revoked the offer ...... that told me they were not prepared to have truthful discussions.. . . . were they knowingly lying or lied too? is an interesting question ..... the WARNINGS WERE THERE.....too bad some many were hurt and so much money wasted.

The only non-dynamic duo who would dis' scelfo would be those who are actually shorter than he is: Stumpy Lumpkin (LF), and his sidekick, Huckleberry Dumbbell (PP). My post here is unnecessary (but fun), because there more than enough people who would stand to his defense: colleagues, reps that worked for him on a daily basis, even those that managed him. Personally, I would follow, lead, or stand side-by-side scelfie into battle, whilst you may continue your quixotic attempt finding and fighting gouty windmills while really we all know you're rimming the a-holes of a-holes on your way to the top. I second this!!! Scelfie was the only one with balls to tell the truth but they couldn't handle it....so what did they do they got rid rid of him because they can't handle people with a different opinion. Many would work for and with JS.

Wow I wonder who could be saying this about JS maybe someone that couldn't hear the truth! Maybe someone's who's wishing they could have had a severance once they wake up and realize there are no more patients out there and this company was washed up yesterday. I hope he gets out of the industry after the shit hole hell ride everyone's had here.

I agree with the above posters. Everyone who knew JS at Savient across the nation knew that he was the real deal. I wasn't even in his region but always wish I had been because was legit!
