I left about six mo ago, writing on the wall.....never looked back. But today feel sad for all those who lost jobs yesterday. The job was a joke, driving around dropping lit and putting in calls. Fending off abuse from the majority of people who saw PPLP on the card. Proud of my time? Probably not. But never did anything to push things illegally. Did not happen in my territory. Helped educate on cdc, risk, tapering....still they wrote. They argued about the right to write, despite my warnings about potential legal ramifications or medical board sanctions. They bought the AD tech and savings cards and Medicaid coverage and they wrote. Looking back, I am so happy that it is over for me, but I’ve had 6 mo under my belt. For those let go in Feb and Yesterday, know that you will land somewhere, this too shall pass. Enjoy the summer, have some fun, start living again. Sorry for your loss.

Well said. The stages of grief are a strange but necessary process. I have to say as someone clipped in February that the first two stages for me went by really quickly. I think due to the fact that we all saw this as inevitable, the process will be speedy for all those effected. Just rejoice in your freedom from this ongoing funeral and focus on your future. It will be much better for you!

i too, left b4 the massive cuts, saw through the BS promised new drugs on the horizon fabrication meant to keep people on board to get the Symproic payout. The management was such a joke, Marv and his mean spirited cavalier attitude, his contempt for employees was the last straw for me. Yes, the writing was on the wall, but so many kool aid drinkers were hanging on. I thought it was so interesting how people, like sheep bought the fake carrot P was dangling. Now it’s the bitter end, time to get off the Purdue teat and wean yourselves.

Let's face it. Those of us that stayed made damn good coin for the past few years while basically being told to stand down and do virtually no selling. Symproic was the worst launch with very little accountability so it really doesn't count. Enjoy your lottery winnings and decent severance and prepare for the real world. I can assure you that it will not resemble our last few years.

Trust me. Those of us stayed only because we couldn’t find another job in time. No one was happy here and we knew the end was coming. I wish all of my former colleagues good luck in their search. This demise had nothing to do with the reps and everything to do with the incompetence of our leadership whom seemed to have somehow kept their jobs. I know we all willl land on our feet and have better jobs in the end

Bravo on that comment. Just got off the phone with a February casualty. Sounds like it will be a slug fest for most of us that want to stay in the business but that there are plenty of opportunities out there. The issue is that if you think it will be like it has been for the majority of the past 10 or 15 years your in for a surprise. Bio and high end specialty pays very well but want very specific experience. Traditional Pharma is basically not hiring unless in a launch mode an if they are, they are really looking to not pay anywhere near our range. And then there is the fringe stuff where there is tons of openings...Lab testing / Compounding / Device / Capital Equipment etc etc etc...These jobs usually have low salaries but decent benefits and the "potential" to make real money. Just keep your eyes open and get the LinkedIn profile flying around and start the madness. But I would take a week or two to enjoy a few cocktails before even starting the journey. Good luck to all!
