Buyout is coming!!

ouch. and scary. I know it feels like we have more sales reps than any other company but thats the first time i've seen it in print that we actually are. and it's not a good feeling....We've got to be the only company with that many reps that hasn't had a layoff in the past 5 years.

Jeez. Relax. It's ONE MAN's opinion. Nothing more. The article makes a few good points, but also nothing more.

Every company board is filled with conspiracy theories about the same thing. Big pharma is looking to get smaller, not bigger. The mega mergers of years past are a thing of the past. Smaller lithe companies are better poised for the future, especially ones without big R and D budgets.

That's actually not true. The way healthcare is going and will be in the future is the bigger the better. The days of private practice are numbers with hospital and ACOs taking over. For a pharmaceutical company to have any influence over these large networks they will have to be big bad and powerful. Small companies are great to raise private capital and help bring a drug to market but thats it. It is then takeover time. they can no longer compete in the current and future healthcare system.

So long. Farewell. I bid forest a goodbye. So glad I got out of pharma.

If you got out of pharma, why are you still reading these message boards? I'm still it and the only reason I read these is to kill time waiting to see a dr.

As for this thread. Takeover has been a rumor for a decade. It could happen but forest has a lot of poison pill clauses making it difficult. Any buyer loses Bystolic, linzess, Savella, and any other drug we don't directly own. Plus if it does go
Down, we all get 6 month severance minimum so don't sweat it

Haha! Bullshit. 6 months severance my ass. 6 weeks with 2 weeks per year worked per govnt minimum. You are in fairly land if you think we get 6 months. This I know as fact.

6 months? On what planet? Why do I keep reading? Because I can't find entertainment from idiots like you in the library. And ya, I love my new job at Subway. Making more in a quarter than you do all year. See you when you come in for your next Tudorza lunch, chief.

Yup- it was stated in the severance clause that was created last year. No one is getting 6 months. Anyone who thinks they are not at risk for losing their job is in denial

Amen! I actually am not lying when I say my last months commission is more than I made in bonus all of last year... And my base salary is higher.... There is such great opportunity and life after Forest!!

You are right my friend. It's a beautiful world out there. The sad part is, some great talented people will lose their jobs and undoubtedly the idiots will remain.

yeah, was I the only one who started to panic when that voicemail/email came out of leftfield last year - the one just reminding the sales force that there is a severance plan/package.

and regarding this as a decade old rumor - of course it is. but as stated earlier, we weren't the biggest sales force during that time who had just lost our moneymaker drug.

You got it all wrong it's 6months of STD meds! 99% of the company will need it.

Listen guys. I have been around the block a few times and here is my prediction: 1) No one is going to buy Forest - reason being that Forest does not bring anything to the table that a large company capable of buying Forest can do for themselves. Forest does not create anything (they buy products) and their people are not seen as being valuable in the industry (thus the reason Forest pays lass than other companies). Pharmaceutical companies do not buy companies for the people, they buy them for the pipeline or current products. Almost every time there is a merger, a layoff inevitably follows. 2) Forest will likely cut their sales force because Forest cares about their bottom line, not their employees. Also companies react based on competition. If the competition does not have a bunch of reps in one territory, Forest does not need a bunch of reps. They will soon "follow the leader" in making cuts too - or at least not replacing reps if they have half a brain. That's right I said "follow the leader" as in Forest is not a leader.
