Botox Volume Discounts

I just learned that some accounts (unfortunately none in my territory) are are being targeted for volume discounts. It's a newer initiative. And if you're not aware, its no surprise. Why? They're keeping the NSSs OUT of the loop. Will they level the playing field for the reps that don't have discounts? Nope! The vials in sales reports will appear as full price purchases. My advice is, if you have a big enough account, just have them threaten to switch to dysport or xeomin and they'll get a discount too. A number of the top performing territories have been getting them in their largest accounts for years. In case you ever wondered why some of the same reps are going to leadership year after year. Shhh....don't tell anyone! - Oh, and have fun explaining to your docs that aren't getting the discount why they don't qualify once they find out. Which they will....which is also how I found out. That was a fun conversation!

But....it’ll affect the ASP I mean, for Botox but not for Xeomin & Dysport who have been doing it for years and theirs hasn’t changed one bit.

i have heard rumblings of this as well. So who is talking to customers about this? I had not heard that the price won't be reflected in sales. That's total crap! I sure hope they give us a heads up on this before a customer who I have told "we don't discount--ever" gets wind of it.

And yes, the NSS have gotten credit for full sales even though they get the total advantage of the discount and the customer gets “the spread”. Basically J Humen is the guy going to visit accounts and helping make the determination. However, the NSS is being kept out of the loop on much of this because the don’t want us selling the spread.

Heck I’ve been making these discounts - account calls and says I am about order 50 vials. My response - order 70 and I’ll give you 10 sample vials for free. Works like a charm!!

Allergan has always maintained this practice to be illegal. Where is compliance now? Select discounts for select customers? Let the whistle blowing begin
