Are we going to lose our jobs? Concerned employees

If you work for labcorp today there is always a strong possibility you may not be working for labcorp tomorrow. Upper management is always looking at "the numbers". Given people costs make up the greatest percent of overall costs, you can be assured personnel costs are always under scrutiny. They will close a facility down in a heart-beat if there is at least a hope to save a dime - or to satisfy Dave's facility rationalization obsession.

It is one thing to run lean. I applaud that and it is good business. However, It is another thing to go beyond lean where it affects morale, overwork for current employees, and sloppy service to clients. The diagnostic business has slim profit margins to begin with and it is not easy to turn mega profits. Labcorp does it but they could take less profit to run a smoother ship for employees, customers, and the long term success of the company. Just my two cents
