In 1953 a coup, orchestrated by the U.S. government, overthrew the democratically elected Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh and replaced him with a King to get Iranian oil. In 1980 US backed Iraq invaded Iran and captured the oil-rich Khuzestan and over 1/2 million people were killed and the Republican party has wanted another war with Iran ever since. In 2015 Republican Tom Cotton wrote a letter to Iranian leaders stating that the Republican party would NOT abide by terms of Iran Nuclear Agreement. The letter was signed by 47 republican Senators including Mitch McConnell. These are the same Senators who are protecting Trump now and this mess belongs to the Republican party and will only get worse.
