I would be surprised if this closes by the 12th. While there shouldn't be any anti-trust issues, the regulators just dont move that quick...it is government afterall
I think the week of 22nd is the earilest the deal will be done.
Also, it most likely wont be a Friday. Typically deals close sometime between Monday and Wednesday so the acquiring companies have time to settle the financing positions (issue debt, paydown debt, unwind hedge contracts, etc...). Also, liquidity is typically lower on Fridays (especially in the summer months) so pricing would be skewed to the unfavorable side, so its a pretty unattractive day to close a large deal.
