Biontronik New Distributorships

Are there any new distributors popping up for BTK in the US?

Curious how is all working out for them.

I work for BIO. Here's a couple of reasons why I don't think so:

1) Bad experience over the past 5 years with Distributorships.
2) Corporate's expressed desire to move toward an all-direct field force moving forward.

Now....that being said, if a group of reps could 'demonstrate' that their distributorship could bring enough business, then I suspect Jake would entertain another deal. However, the experiences over the past few years has significantly raised the bar in terms of proving a rep can bring the business.

West Coast is doing just fine. Just have to get the right team and things are status quo

Even 'distriubutorships' will be under Bio's umbrella as direct employees. The rep principle will be listed as an RSD to manage his own territory but the free wheeling days of rogue independents is over.

I dont know who you are but you are wrong. I am a new independant distributor for the company and it is going great. Having fun again.

I am poster #2. Your comments highlight some of the challenges ahead. The concept of being under Bio's Umbrella is already in place with Western Medical and Denovo, so instead of a forward looking comment on your part...you are simply stating how things exist right now.

'Free wheeling rogues' will behave as such regardless of the nature of their relationship with the company. My comments were there to point out that the past 5 years have colored corporates stomach for these guys. I am not saying there's no shot for them, but I think Jake has gone to bat for one too many guys who are going to 'bring the business' - only to have to go through the messy process of extricating the company from a guarantee on down the road. This is a turning point for corporate where they realize to mature the organization, they have to stop trying for the quick turnaround and replace it with the slow and steady growth of business earned through long-term product planning and relationhship-building.

In this light, I think that it will become harder for independents to strike a deal. The perception and reality of those relationships conjures up so many specters of Bio's past that it almost does the competitions job for them in some cases.

easy, with the new sunshine laws coming soon, easy to can direct guys when they play by their own ruled.

Spine, ortho and CRm distributorships will be like a black and white tv in about five years. Too much liability with these loose cannons and when reps are all direct, company can easily fire someone when they dont play by the new rules.

Smart biz on the companies part and with all the MD;s as employees, days of taking guys to the masters, exotic "meetings" etc are OVER.
