BI Contract

this is the worse contract, the BI managers treat ventiv reps like garbage, you are paid less, with less benefits and bonus. Yet you have more stress than the BI reps because you answer to 2 managers, 2 companies and the testing here is unbearable and very demanding.
Many people don't make it and those that do cheat.

I don't understand your point.

First of all this is not a auto "rolled over" contract to direct position.

Only "if" the position or territory is opened by BI, will you be able to apply direct to BI then you must interview. Several of the BI managers are ex-Takeda people and are hiring their old relationships rather than the person that is trained.

But this is NOT auto and several of the inventiv territories are collapsing.

This is true, but the BI fixed duration reps were automatically rolled over in January 2012. THe Ventiv reps were not. Personally don't think BI knows what it takes to sell diabetes and needs Lilly more than they need Ventiv reps.
BI also will not allow the Ventiv reps to transfer to other contracts at Ventiv, you have to either quit or be taken off the contract because of the job being eliminated before you can interview for another Ventiv position.
Additionally, Ventiv does the recruiting and hiring for other companies as they are now outsourcing their HR departments. Like warner chilcott, sucampo and more.

doubt if they are vacant, it is probably just more issues with confusing everyone about a position being filled and the posting being taken off the computer.
seriously, these BI managers what got an automatic rollover of BI reps were not happy. The managers what to hire WHO they want and with ex-Takeda people as Managers they are going to hire their ex-collegues.
We have seen this happen time and time again.
Also as the Ventiv rep they (BI and Lilly) treat you as the third wheel. Your BI manager is very very demanding and wants you to be a part of the team even though you are not.

This is an embedded contract in which the BI DM's have basically done the hiring and Reps have the identical training to the BI Reps-despite this fact some of the BI DM's have let their Ventiv Reps go just because they are Ventiv Reps-they would rather have vacant territories vs. keeping the trained high-performing Ventiv rep just because they came in under the Ventiv contract

Personally I am glad to be gone from this garbage contract, we had 3 DIFFERENT COMPANIES CO -promoting and as many as 6 different reps calling on some offices. My BI manager is a trouble maker, promotes gossip and asks for reps to document things against other reps. Never has the balls to tell you direct, always says that "so and so" said that you "blah blah" a major gossip who lacks the ability to build a team with cohesiveness.

He is two faced and it is SO not worth it to be in an environment of hostility. I hope they downsize soon after they figure out they hired WAY too many people to promote a DPP-4 inhibitor that is 3rd to market.

BI doesn't treat people very nice.

YOu are also forgetting about nepotism. My BI manager hired an ex-employee of his and this person doesn't even live in the territory they are calling on.
Additionally, many Takeda DMs that were displaced were hired as Managers at BI, when a position becomes open they are hiring Takeda people.

Why be surprised when some ex laid off DM now on this contract hires his/her ex laid off pharma buddies? They are not picking the next Pope, just helping out some buddies that will appreciate the help and make the hiring DM's life easier.

Why? Takeda reps are the laziest in the industry, especially if they are Takeda legacy. Most have only ever sold 1 drug in their life.
