BI Calling?

BI is no more secure than avanir. At least you are not micromanaged like you will at BI. BI is a crap company that is based in Europe and that has had numerous layoffs in the last year. Many of the new reps are contract bozos who could be laid off in one year. The managers all suck with lots of emphasis on calls, lunches , programs, use of the MVA on every call-regardless of how inappropriate it is in gaining new business. IT is big brainless pharma on steriods.
I would give this company a chance rather than work for some piece of shit big pharma where you will be graded on sales but stupid activity( which is what gives pharma reps a bad name)

5K base increase, portfolio excellent and some significant safety comparisons to Januvia. Lots of energy right now. If sales stay flat for next 30 days?

How long do you think you will last at BI? They are a fickle company that has had three layoff in two years. They have decided to use contract workers( scabs) for some of their new divisions. Worse yet, they are owned by a wealth family that has shown no consistency in the last three years. I was called a couple of times during the last year a specialty spot that open now , no wait we have a hiring freeze! A month later, can you come in next week? We are starting to interview! one week later, very quite. I am sorry , they are reorganizing , lets see what happens. a month later, the recruiter called frantically, send me a list of all the hospitals and doctors you have called on!!! I sent it in, a month later, The recruiter said that , looks like it may be filled internally after a massive layoff. A few months later they posted 100s of spots again howerver most were ventiv

BI will be a force in Diabetes for the next several years, solid job security for next 3-5 years is very enticing. If sales dont pick up in next 30-60 days Avanir planning and micro management will not be pretty. Sales leaders are already paranoid as hell

They are are farce not force. Job security for the next 3-5 years???? haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The company that has continued layoff in the last two years???? haaaaaaa haaaaaaaaa

Try it, lets see where that division is in 1 year

Think about the offer and what you will be selling before you jump.

I interviewed, and talked to prescribers before my final interview. Here is what the docs told me...3rd in class DPP4 with no efficacy advantage. I brought up the safety advantages that was discussed with me during the interview. Doc's response: "been using Januvia for 3 years and it's the safest diabetes product out there. No side effects and no issues that I've seen. Why would I switch to something else?" After hearing this from 5 old customers, I can't see myself selling 3rd in class product and being micro-managed by a big pharma manager. Sure, they offered $5K more, but after taxes it's not that much...bonus sucks... Reach and frequency, reach and frequency....been there, done that.

BI is lame. Might as well go to Pfizer, Lilly, Merck, or Novartis. It what I don't want. Working for Avanir isn't for the faint of heart, but it is a hell of a lot of fun.

Look at the sales numbers for Dpp4s on investor village. Most of the diabetes threads post them. Then look at the 2nd in class DPP4. Then think about what a third product with minimal advantage will sell. Grass isn't always greener.

BI is a crappy company that is the picture of big pharma on steroids. reach and freq, dinner programs, 2-3 day ride alongs, unstable managment, me too drugs, out sourceing to ventiv in some divisions, numerous layoffs in the last few years, most of the new jobs are with ventiv, and tons of big pharma bullshit. IF i going to go the way of the dinasour, i am going to have fun in my last pharma job and not under some micromanager that is 25 years old
