BHBU manager position

A recruiter contacted me last Thursday about a potential BHBU DM position with a September start date. I am with a non competing pharm. company with 6 years DM experience. My company is stable but like most pharm. companies, we are contracting. Any thoughts that are objective? I know no pharm.company is perfect, but I can't make a bad decision. I am the primary earner in my family, and live in a relatively expensive suburb outside Philadelphia. Constructive thoughts on stability, quality of life, total compensation, and long term opportunities within Amgen. Thank you.

My advice would be to stay where you are. DM's are running scared and crazy. It is known that they want to reduce the DM headcount, either through attrition or other means. This is a very toxic environment right now. Morale is very low. Not close to what anyone was promised. Base pay and benefits are good but the bonus structure and payouts are very poor. This has been a poorly managed drug launch.

Seriously! You are potentially thinking about coming here to work for Amgen as "manager" and you seek advice and try to obtain knowledge through CafePharma!?! Why don't you ask through your manager circles and do some research on the company, etc. I'm glad I won't ever be working for you!

Thank you. I have asked colleagues, and have received a mixed review. The feedback was a strong compensation package and a good company for women. However, I have not learned much in a couple days since the recruiter called specific to the Bone Health division. In currently do not work in this space, and thought Cafepharma would be only a part of my research over the weekend.
